Oak Cedar carries the deep, resinous brown of cedarwood into European white oak — a rich dark tone with red warmth running underneath it, so the floor reads as timber that has aged rather than timber that has been coloured.

It is a Character grade board, and on a dark colour that grading is a real advantage: knots, mineral streaks and cathedral figure surface a shade deeper than the field and give the eye somewhere to travel. The wire-brushed texture works with them, opening the grain so light breaks across the surface instead of pooling on it.

The construction is substantial — a 3/4″ engineered board with a 3.2 mm wear layer, the same thickness and underfoot solidity as a traditional solid floor, with the dimensional stability engineered layers provide. Boards run 7 1/2″ wide in 2–7 foot random lengths, a mix that lays out naturally without a repeating rhythm.

A silk finish keeps the sheen just above dead matt, which is exactly what a dark floor wants: enough light return to show the grain, never enough to glare.

Oak Cedar is at its best in libraries, panelled dining rooms, studies and primary suites, and in contemporary interiors where a grounded floor is set against pale plaster, stone and glass.
