Oak Russo takes its name from the Italian for red, and that is precisely where the colour sits: a dark brown with a clear russet warmth running through it, closer to the tone of old chestnut than to a neutral dark oak.
The surface is timeworn-brushed — a deeper, deliberately irregular brushing that goes further than a standard wire-brush. It undulates gently across the board, softens the edges and opens the grain unevenly, reproducing the way a floor wears after decades of use. On a warm dark colour the effect is remarkable: the raised grain catches light as a lighter red, and the recesses hold the deeper tone.
Rustic grading keeps knots, mineral streaks and full figure in the timber, and medium variation moves the colour between boards. The finish is UV-cured oil, cured into the top fibres rather than over them, which is the only finish that keeps a timeworn surface feeling like timber. Boards are 7 1/2″ wide in 72″ random lengths, 9/16″ engineered, with a 3 mm wear layer.
