Sable is sand, and Oak Sable is the colour of it just after the tide has gone out: a soft, dry, greyed warm tone with none of the pink or orange that some warm oaks carry. It is the most balanced neutral in the French oak range — not cool, not warm, simply settled.
That balance is why it appears so often on projects where a single floor has to work through an entire property. It sits under cool palettes and warm ones equally, and it changes very little between daylight and lamplight, which makes it unusually easy to specify from a sample.
Light Rustic sorting keeps knots and fine mineral flecking in the wood. Finished in oil — bonded into the fibre rather than laid over it — giving an open matte surface that can be refreshed locally as the floor is used. A 9/16″ engineered core carries a 4 mm wear layer.
