European Oak Flooring Oak Davys Grey
Oak Davys Grey borrows the name of Davy’s grey, the artists’ pigment ground from slate. In oak it becomes a soft greyed natural — the grey sitting in the grain rather than over it, so the floor keeps the warm base of the timber and never flattens into a painted tone.
Character grade is what makes this work. Knots, streaks and open figure take the grey more strongly than the clear face does, and the result is a floor with genuine tonal range across the room. The wire-brushed surface deepens that effect by opening the grain for the colour to settle into, and adds a texture you feel underfoot.
The board is 7 1/2″ wide in 2–7 foot random lengths, laid up on a 3/4″ engineered core with a 3.2 mm wear layer — the substance of a solid floor with engineered stability. A silk matte finish keeps the sheen low so the grey stays soft rather than silver.
It is a natural specification for interiors built on stone, concrete and blackened metal that need a floor to warm them, and for coastal and mountain houses where a weathered tone belongs.
