Oak Bois Flotte – French Oak

French Oak Flooring Oak Bois Flotte

Bois flotté is driftwood — timber that has been in salt water and sun long enough to lose its yellow and settle into a soft, weathered grey-beige. The colour reproduces that state exactly: warm enough to stay hospitable, cool enough to sit in a modern coastal or alpine palette without fighting it.

Select grade gives the floor its restraint. Long straight grain and minimal character marks let the driftwood tone stay quiet and consistent, so the greyed cast reads as a considered colour rather than as weathering, and large open plans hold a single tone corner to corner.

A urethane finish with a matt lacquer effect keeps the surface flat and light-absorbing, which is essential for this shade — sheen is what turns a driftwood grey silver. The 7 1/4″ board runs in 78″ random lengths over a 9/16″ engineered core, with a 4 mm wear layer held in reserve.

Oak Bois Flotte belongs in waterfront residences, beach houses and mountain retreats, and in city interiors built on limestone, linen, pale bronze and unbleached wool.
