European Oak Flooring Oak Luna
Oak Luna is a clear, moonlit European white oak: a pale neutral with no yellow in it, the colour of oak seen in the first hour of daylight. It is the quietest floor in the collection, and quietness at 9 1/2″ wide is a considerable achievement — a board this broad usually asserts itself.
What allows it is the Select grade. Sapwood is sorted out, knots are small and infrequent, and shade movement is deliberately kept low, so an extra-wide plank reads as a single continuous field. On a pale floor this sorting is what separates a refined room from a busy one.
The surface is left smooth rather than brushed, which is unusual and very deliberate: with no texture to catch the light, the eye reads the grain itself. Boards run mostly 7′ 8 1/2″ long — close to two and a half metres — on a 5/8″ engineered core with a 4.0 mm wear layer, generous enough to be refinished repeatedly across the life of the floor. The finish is a matte UV lacquer, cured hard and almost without sheen.
Oak Luna belongs in principal rooms with real daylight: penthouse living spaces, gallery-like interiors, and any room where pale stone, plaster and glass set the palette.
