Oak Sonata European Oak Flooring
Oak Sonata is a light European white oak on a 7 1/2″ board — the width that has become the standard of contemporary luxury flooring because it reads generous without overwhelming a room of ordinary proportions.
The colour is a clear, gentle light tone that lifts a space and holds daylight well into the afternoon. Select grading is what keeps it that way: the mill draws the calmest, most consistently figured boards, so the pale colour reads as one continuous plane rather than shifting from board to board.
The board is engineered, a multi-layer construction in which the oak wear surface is bonded to a cross-laid core. That is what allows a floor to be laid over radiant heat, in an apartment above grade, or in a humid coastal climate, and to stay flat while a solid board would move.
A light, calm, mid-width oak is the most widely specified floor in luxury residential work for good reason: it suits every room in a house, sits under every palette, and never becomes the thing a client tires of first.
