Rafia takes its name from raffia palm fibre, and the colour is exactly that: a pale straw tone with a dry, fibrous warmth, sitting between a bleached oak and a natural one. It is the palest floor in the range that still reads unmistakably as wood — there is no white in it, only a lightened version of the oak’s own colour.

At Light Rustic grade the knots and small mineral flecks stay in view, and on a pale ground they read clearly. That is the intention: the flecking is what gives a light floor its depth and keeps it convincing at close range.

Finished in oil, which bonds into the top fibres rather than forming a film over them. On a pale, dry-toned floor an oil is particularly sympathetic — it leaves the surface open and matte, and can be refreshed locally as the floor is lived on. A 9/16″ engineered core carries a 4 mm wear layer.

Oak Rafia is specified for rooms that live on daylight: garden rooms, coastal residences, and high-floor apartments with glass on two sides. It sits beautifully beneath rattan, linen and unlacquered brass, and against pale limestone it becomes almost seamless.
