French Oak Flooring Oak Bois Flotte Light
Driftwood at its most characterful, in an 8 3/4″ board. The colour is a silvered pale grey-brown — the tone salt and sun leave behind after years on a beach, pigment lifted out of the wood rather than laid over it. On a board this wide the weathered quality reads across a whole room at once.
The Light Rustic grade is what makes the driftwood idea convincing. Knots are present, small mineral streaks run through the grain, and the shade moves noticeably from board to board. That movement is the character: a floor with this much natural variation looks like something that happened over time rather than something that was chosen from a chart.
Boards run 8 3/4″ wide in 78″ random lengths on a 5/8″ engineered core, with a generous 5 mm wear layer and a matt lacquer that carries almost no sheen — the right finish for a pale floor, where gloss would flatten the grain.
Oak Bois Flotte Light Rustic is at home in coastal residences, garden rooms and interiors built around linen, plaster and pale stone. It is also an excellent floor for a room with strong daylight, where the silver in the tone comes forward through the day.
