Oak Caicos – European White Oak

European Oak Flooring Oak Caicos

Oak Caicos sits where grey and natural meet — a softly greyed oak that keeps its warm base intact. It is the tone that lets a client have a cool floor without the room turning cold, and it is the reason this shade has stayed in specification long after flat greys moved on.

Select ABC grading brings clean and characterful boards together, and against a greyed field the knots and grain read as gentle shadow, giving depth across a 10 1/4″ board. The wire-brushed surface is doing real work here: the open grain holds the grey a shade deeper than the face, which is what stops a grey floor looking like paint.

Polyurethane with aluminium oxide gives a matt, hard-wearing surface with no sheen to silver the tone, over a 5/8″ engineered core with a 4 mm wear layer for future refinishing.

It works especially well with cool architecture warmed by textiles — concrete, blackened steel and pale plaster set against wool, leather and bronze — and in waterfront apartments where the floor is asked to echo the light off the water.
