A deep, considered grey with the weight of slate and the warmth of timber underneath it. As a reactive stain, the colour is produced by the oak’s own tannin, which is why a dark grey achieved this way keeps its depth in the grain instead of flattening into a painted plane.
Three ranges, three degrees of texture. Lightest is Range 2, brushed very gently, planed and consistent, contemporary and true to the colour. Range 1 goes considerably further — a heavy, authentic wire-brushing, an undulated face, deeper marks and rounded edges that highlight the veins of the oak in a curved pattern of the utmost luxury. Range 3 goes furthest of all: aged and distressed, with chipped edges, shade differences, colour accents and discoloration around the knots.
Choose straight plank, chevron, herringbone or Versailles panel; a width anywhere between 5″ and 12″, fixed or random; a length between 6′ and 10′; and 5/8″ or 3/4″ thickness in solid or engineered construction, with a 5–8 mm wear layer.
