Oak Alcona is a white-toned European oak on a 10.5″ wide plank, and it is finished with a dual-tone thermal treatment — the detail that makes this floor unlike a conventional whitened oak.

In a dual-tone surface, the face of the board and the grain within it are left reading at two different depths of colour. The effect is that the white sits on the surface while the grain beneath it stays warmer and deeper, so the floor has visible interior structure rather than a single flat tone. On a board this wide, that depth is what keeps the eye engaged across the room.

Rustic grading supplies the knots, mineral streaks and figure that the second tone picks out, and medium variation moves the colour gently from plank to plank. A high-performance UV-cured finish protects it with a hard, factory-cured surface ready to use on completion, over a 5/8″ engineered core with a 4 mm wear layer.
