Oak Emilia is a natural European oak finished in UV-cured oil, and that finish is the reason the floor looks the way it does. Oil does not build a film on top of the timber; it penetrates the top fibres and cures within them, so what you see and touch is oak rather than a coating. The surface is open, matt and completely natural in appearance.
Curing that oil under ultraviolet light in the factory gives it the hardness and consistency of a modern finish while keeping the character of a traditional one — and it means the floor is ready to walk on the day it is laid.
The timber is Rustic grade, with knots, mineral streaks and full figure, and medium variation gives real tonal movement across the room. The wire-brushed surface lifts the grain for the oil to settle into. Boards are 7 1/2″ wide in 74 3/4″ random lengths on a 5/8″ engineered core with a 4 mm wear layer.
A natural oiled oak is the specification of choice for interiors built on honest materials — stone, plaster, wool, linen and unlacquered metal.
