Tuffeau is the soft cream limestone the Loire châteaux were built from, and Oak Tufeau carries the same pale, chalky glow — a warm off-white with no grey in it, closer to stone than to bleached wood. Cut into chevron, it becomes one of the lightest patterned floors it is possible to lay.
These are the narrow chevrons: 3 1/2″ wide with a 19″ fixed point. A narrow chevron produces far more points per square metre than a wide one, and the result is a tighter, more intricate rhythm — the classical Parisian proportion, and the version that reads as jewellery rather than as architecture.
The Rustic sorting keeps knots, filled character marks and open grain in the wood. Against a colour this pale the character is clearly visible, and that is the intention: it is what gives a near-white floor its depth and its authenticity.
Built on a 9/16″ engineered core with a 4 mm wear layer and finished in urethane over a matt lacquer surface, a combination that holds up to real daily use while keeping the sheen low.
