Oak Noir European Oak Flooring
Oak Noir is the darkest herringbone in the collection and the most finely scaled: blocks just 4″ wide by 23″ long, laid at right angles so the zig-zag runs close and tight across the floor.
That narrow module matters. A small herringbone block produces more repeats per square metre, and the result is a denser, more detailed, more obviously hand-set pattern — the proportion found in the great historic parquet floors of Paris and Vienna. In a deep near-black tone, the effect is unmistakably formal.
The blocks are graded Select, so the timber stays calm and the geometry remains the subject, and the surface is wire-brushed, which is what keeps a very dark floor legible: the open grain breaks reflected light so the pattern reads clearly instead of glaring under downlights. Construction is 5/8″ engineered with a 4 mm wear layer.
A floor for entrance halls, drawing rooms, dressing rooms, private dining and jewel-box interiors, and a remarkable ground for pale plaster, marble, antique mirror and brass.
