Oak Bois Flotte Herringbone High Traffic – French Oak

French Oak Herringbone Flooring Oak Bois Flotte

Bois flotté means driftwood, and Oak Bois Flotte earns the name: a silvered grey-brown with the weathered, sun-lifted quality of timber shaped by salt and light. Cut into herringbone, that softness becomes something quite formal — the pattern supplies the structure, the colour keeps it light.

Blocks are fixed at 5 1/2″ × 31″, interlocking at a right angle so the floor reads as a woven field. The Rustic sorting keeps knots and mineral streaking in the wood, which is exactly what a driftwood tone needs: the character is the colour’s evidence.

This is the high-traffic specification, finished in urethane over a matt lacquer surface on a 9/16″ engineered core with a 4 mm wear layer. It is built for floors that are walked on hard — hotel lobbies, restaurants, showrooms and busy family entrances — while looking every bit as considered as a residential floor.

At its best in entrance halls, hospitality interiors and coastal residences, and particularly striking against pale plaster, rattan and blackened steel.
