European Oak Flooring Oak Salermo
Oak Salermo is a natural European oak in the 7 1/2″ width — the proportion that has become the default of contemporary luxury flooring, and for a precise reason. It is wide enough to feel generous and modern in an open-plan room, and restrained enough to sit correctly in a period interior where a very wide plank would fight the joinery.
The colour is the honest tone of European oak, warm-neutral and adaptable. Rustic grading keeps the knots and figure that make a natural floor convincing, and medium variation allows genuine tonal movement from board to board, so the floor never reads as manufactured.
The surface is wire-brushed and protected by polyurethane with aluminium oxide, a matt, resilient factory-cured film. Boards run 74 3/4″ random lengths on a 9/16″ engineered core with a 3 mm wear layer.
It is the specification to reach for when one floor has to run through an entire residence and work in every room it passes through.
