European White Oak Flooring Oak Nevis
Oak Nevis is a broad, softly bleached European white oak — pale without being cold, with just enough warmth left in the wood to keep a room hospitable. At 10 1/4″ it is among the widest boards VOGUE Parquet® offers, and width of this order changes what a floor does: fewer joints, longer sightlines, and a surface that reads as one material rather than as a run of boards.
The grade is Select ABC, a sorting that welcomes character while keeping it in proportion. Knots appear and read a shade darker than the field, the grain moves openly, and the tone shifts gently between boards. It is the balance most designers are looking for: enough life to be unmistakably real oak, enough consistency to hold a large open floor together.
Boards run to 86 5/8″ in random lengths on a 5/8″ engineered core. The 4 mm wear layer is the figure worth knowing — at that depth the floor can be sanded and refinished several times over its life, in the way a solid floor can. The surface is wire-brushed to open the grain, then sealed in polyurethane with aluminium oxide, one of the most traffic-tolerant finishes made.
Oak Nevis comes into its own in open-plan apartments, penthouse living rooms and long galleries, where a wide board can run uninterrupted from one end of a space to the other.
